Expands action plan to keep child sexual abuse images out of .INFO

Dublin, Ireland-23 October 2008 - In preparation for IWF Awareness Day on October 24, 2008, Afilias has announced that it has become a member of the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF). This will increase Afilias’ ability to be proactive in eliminating child sexual abuse content from the .INFO domain.

Afilias recognizes the best German-speaking .INFO-Sites and offers 18,000 Euro reward to the winners

MUNICH, GERMANY - March 17, 2008 – From March 17 to May 25 owners of German-speaking .INFO-Websites can apply for the .INFO-Award that will award 18,000 Euro in prize money later this year. The Award is created by global domain name registry Afilias in media-cooperation with INTERNET WORLD Business and addresses .INFO domain owners from Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

DUBLIN, IRELAND – 21 January 2008 – Afilias, a global provider of registry services, announced today that Internet users can now register .INFO domain names that include the Spanish characters á, é, í, ñ, ó, ú, and ü. The introduction of these new domain names, termed Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs), now enables Spanish-speakers to establish Web sites using words commonly used in Spanish such as película.info, teléfono-móvil.info, Ídolo.info, Piñata.info, and others.
