How did the ancients learn of the precession of the equinoxes - an astrological cycle of 25,000 years - or of the ice covered coastline of Antarctica? How could they build the pyramids of Egypt, the giant stone temple at Baalbek, Lebanon, the enigmatic Stonehenge? Were there ancient, forgotten, seafaring nations who traveled the world with relative ease? What truths do mythology and oral history preserve? Is human history a series of cycles of advance and decline reaching back to Atlantis, Lemuria, and countless earlier cultures whose names, even, are lost, and whose thinking patterns are difficult for us to comprehend? Indeed did ancient cultures possess insights and methods more advanced than we do today? And most importantly, is it possible to regain those insights and methods to resolve the problems of today? Gallery Night Providence is a 501-c-3 non-profit arts organizations. In 1996, nine galleries banded together to form Gallery Night Providence. Ten years and twenty-three galleries later, Gallery Night Providence has grown into a regional visual arts extravaganza. Four art buses travel the neighborhoods of Providence depositing people at galleries, museums and historic sites. Over 10,000 people each year enjoy exhibitions, demonstrations, lectures, live music and performances.

Festival Ballet is the performing semi-professional ballet company in residence at the Academy of Ballet & Dance Arts and the Woodlands Dance Academy. As an independent 501 c-3 arts organization, founded by Artistic Director Deborah Rayburn in July 1996, our mission is to enlighten and entertain audiences with classical and contemporary presentations, provide performance experience for advanced level ballet students, and encourage and promote the art of dance in our community. Festival Ballet provides quality performances to audiences and acts as a haven to talented young local dancers and as a magnet to national and international talents. Festival Ballet is committed to artistic excellence in its performances and to the highest quality training in its instruction.
