Become a Registrar

Before you can start selling .INFO domains, you must complete our authorization process. This section explains on how a registrar becomes eligible to start operation with the production environment of Afilias' .INFO registry. Before you can proceed with authorization with Afilias, you must first be accredited by ICANN. The process for ICANN accreditation is explained at the ICANN home page. After ICANN accreditation, follow the steps listed below for Afilias authorization, or our "Go Live" process. During this Go Live process Afilias provides support to the accredited registrar. For general and business issues related to the Go Live process (Steps 1,2,4), contact Afilias' US office. For technical support (step 3), contact our operations office in Toronto, Canada.

Step One — Initial Process

• Submit two signed original Confidentiality Agreements, duly signed by your organization's authorized person(s).
• Submit a complete Registrar Data Form, filled out by your organization's authorized person(s). The form is available in PDF and DOC formats.
• Optionally, one completed Registrar Marketing Contact Data Form (to make it easier to participate in Registry programs).
• Optionally, one completed and signed Facsimile Authorization Form (to enable us to accept faxes from you as authentic).

Step Two — Business and Legal Process

• Submit a copy of your organization's formation documents.
• Submit two original Registrar License & Agreements (RLA), duly signed by your organization's authorized person(s).
• Submit a complete registrar credit document.
• Optionally, one completed Marketing Authorization Form

Step Three — Technical process, OT&E

• Complete the Operational Test and Evaluation certification process. To complete this step, you are required to develop the client application that will interface to the Afilias Shared Registration System. The OT&E environment is available for you to test your client system. Download the Registrar Toolkit as soon as possible and schedule a time slot with technical support for your formal certification. The OT&E specifications are available in PDF format (version 1.2, published 4 November 2009).
